Installing RBZ plugins in 2013
-
I have had this problem intermittently since installing 2013. I install a plugin using the RBZ method and the plugin doesn't show up. I can see the plugin in the store extension menu, I can see the plugin in the store plugin menu, but I can't see the plugin in the Sketchup View toolbars.
I have looked under all the toolbars, which makes a mess of my toolbar layout. Getting tired of that exercise.
And so after closing and opening Sketchup, the toolbar magically appears. I know how to install plugins, this is just getting annoying. There is something not working correctly.
I will keep on plugging along,(pun intended). But I know I can't be the only one having this problem.

Ken, it does seem like a black cloud is perpetually hanging overhead for you. Just kidding.
Does this happen with every plugin or just some? There are some plugins that will require SketchUp to go through a startup sequence to fully load. Maybe you're getting those plugins?

That black cloud started after wearing my THAT. No, it doesn't happen with every plugin. However it has been noticeable. The first couple of times, I just assumed I was doing something wrong. Now, trying to make sure I do it right, it still happens. However, it hasn't happen enough for me to determine a predicable reason.
The last plugin I installed was "PipeDraft". I have yet to find the tool bar. The extension is turned on, the plugin is active by the store extensions and plugins menus, and Sketchup menu preferences. Yet no tool bar. Now it may be hiding somewhere. I had found some plugins when I first installed 2013 at the bottom of the screen hidden with just a little sliver showing.
I was more just wondering if other have had this problem. I'll get it worked out someway even if I have to un-install all plugins.
Ken, just wondering.

I haven't installed Pipedraft so I can't answer about its toolbar or anything. the first release of SU2013 had an issue in which new toolbars could be under existing toolbars but would only show up once all other toolbars were moved from the top toolbar area. I believe there was a recent maintenance release that fixed that problem. Have you updated to M1?

I checked for updates info, program says I have the must recent update, 13.0.3689. I believe that is the original version. So if there is an update, my Sketchup is not indicating there is an update.
I will check and see if there is an update on the Trimble site a little later. Busy, modeling an Africa FPSO for inspection.
Thanks for your help.

The v13M1 update IS available, if you re-download it from Trimble direct... BUT it won't be found via the 'check for up dates' click for a little while yet... keep checking...

Let me get this straight. I looked at the Trimble site and didn't find any reference to an update, or even the version number of the Pro download.
So, if I read you correctly, if I download and install the pro version that is available on the Trimble site again, I will have the latest update, correct?
And, I know they are overloaded, but somewhere there should be a version number associated with the download. Now maybe I didn't look that hard since I was looking for an update and not a re-install. So some slack is given.
Thanks TIG

If you download the Pro version from Trimble it IS the updated version [13.0.4124]
I just redid it to check...
It's been released without much hoo-ha yet...
Trimble are arranging their guns... -
Thanks TIG
I have a break so I will do it now.

Well I make the assumption that I should download the pro trail version.
Seems to me, for +$500.00, I could go to a download site that is for pros and not have me wondering if this trail version is going to crash in 8 days. Just a little note would help:
"If you own the pro version, this is the version you wish to download, it will not expire in 8 days" Note, the previous sentence is not copyrighted.
