Complex Curves

Hello everybody, for the last 2 mounts I started using Sketchup.My models so far have certain complexity, since I make almost exact models of military vehicles.When I make tanks its no problem, but airplanes are pain in the ass, since Sketchup is not exactly the program for complex curves, I have to spend days making them with the pen tool and "soften edges". I was wondering can you give me any advice on any free plugins, I know Artisan can be a real help, but I can't afford it right now.Video tutorials would be very helpful too .Thank you!

guitarlist.com has a free sub-d plugin if Artisan is not in your budget
