      Hi, new here!
Just wondering if anybody here can help me out
Been trying for a long time now to try and get this model sliced!
Had troubles with getting it to be a 'solid' form, but eventually fixed that
Now I'm having big troubles trying to slice the thing up using slicer 5
Im trying to slice it in the Y direction and lay it out so i can laser it as a model

Any help would be really appreciated!

      Thank you very much

      Tony

Just tried to upload it and it says my file is too large!

Iv'e just ulpaded it to file dropper and got a link:

      http://www.filedropper.com/modeltobeslicedinydirection

      Thanks again!

You certainly are a Newbie πŸ˜‰
Your 5.8 Mb file is only 200 kb when purges of unused components/layers/materials/scenes etc !

        Now the issue...
If I tidy up, remove section-planes, guides etc, explode the instance and remake it as a group... then SolidSolver reports it as Solid already.
BUT... with hidden geometry on there are zillions of unneeded lines.
These are not coplanar and can't be removed without deleting their associated faces !
The volume has been poorly modeled.
You should try to remodel it properly using PushPull etc to ensure the simple form is as trim as possible...***

        Now Slicer5 tries it...
It almost succeeds... but misses out a few very tiny edges doing the intersections for a few slices - a known limitation of SketchUp. These are made by the myriad radial hidden edges on what ought to be completely flat surfaces...

***Remake the form as a group.
        Use simple PushPulls etc.
It should then be a 'Solid' in Entity Info and 'Slice' OK...

The attached image using a 'TroubleShooting' Style shows your issues...
All edges in the form appear to be axial but only those that are are show red/green/blue πŸ˜’
