Large Light Spots in VRay - cannot get rid, please help!!
-
Hey can anybody help??
I have tried everything to get rid of these large light spots in VRay, however they will not go away. I have never seen this before in any past render that I have done.
I have attached the visual and also the screen shots of my settings.
I have already tried upping the Subdivs but nothing happened.
Please someone help and bring my sanity back, Im losing the plot!!
Cheers
Matt

Are you pehaps trying to light using an Emissive material? That usually causes similar results.
-
Yes, an emissive material can certainly do that. How are you lighting this scene? An HDRI can also cause these splotches. If you sign up for the new beta, dome light is a new feature that now allows you to light a scene with an HDRI. No more blurred workarounds.

Hi Guys, sorry I did not realise anyone had replied. Thank you though.
I am using a single window, which is open to the GI light, and also two orange-coloured omni lights. I have deleted the omni lights before and the blotches were still there, so I am assuming that it must be something to do with the GI or possibly the rendering engine, however I have tried a host of different engines and nothing happened. I am not using an emissive material either so it cannot be anything to that.
@valerostudio: I will try the beta, but would you mind explaining 'blurred workarounds', sorry but my Vray terminology is fairly thin.
Cheers again,
Matt

a whole bunch of people are having the same issue
follow this
http://sketchupvrayresources.blogspot.ca/2011/07/trick-removing-splotches-in-vray.htmlit might also be caustics. i was having the same issue but for me it was glossy reflections that were the problems. it depends on your specific situation. but try it still. i know that vray can be really overwhelming.
cheers
