I am getting grainy light reflection when I render my scenes with vray. I have enclosed a rendering and you can see where the light hits the walls around the sconces is very grainy. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Brian

increase your sampling - there are a few different places you can make this adjustment:

      1. increase your light source subdivision
      2. if you are using a semi-glossy material on your walls, increase the subdivision there (default 8 - you can got to 16 or 24 to start)
      3. increase you image sampler subdivsions (in the options editor - default max is 4, increase that value)
      4. lower your noise threshold in the DMC sampler (from 0.01 to .002 or .005)

Any time you increase sampling, you will increase the time it takes to render, so try to find the one that makes the biggest difference so you're not taking a huge speed hit.
      Hope that helps!

Just remove the reflection layer from your wall material. Unless it's supposed to be a glossy finish, I find adding glass to flat painted walls is not worth the A)grain or B)added render time to reduce the grain.

Thanks for the help I will try that, but just a note the wall finish is not reflective at all, does that make a difference?

Then I would guess it's most likely your light source. Change the shadow subdivisions from (default) 8 to 16 and see if it makes a difference. If you keep increasing the number, but it's still a problem, then try increasing your AA settings.
