Yeah, John should be forced to model with his hands inside pillows. Either that or post YT videos of his speed-modeling.

Thanks everyone, there's no secret here I can only click a mouse at the same speed as anyone else. Daniel don't look so closely . Jeff, wouldn't it be great to go back in time when the world was at a more sedate pace....now isn't fast enough anymore.
Here's the Jeep model if anyone wants it. saved as ver 6

John, thanks for sharing, that's great! I think a particular skill you have is knowing the right thing to detail to make the whole look right. That and your texturing. Can you show us, or maybe you already did in another thread, how it is you make your distressed textures. That's really what sells it for me - your realistic "dirty" textures.

Hey John
It is a pleasure for the eye and mind.
Never miss to follow your job.

Hope you don't mind, John, just couldn't resist having some fun with your excellent jeep

Hello Andy, the dirt was applied with a pen in PS as it's a lot faster than maps. There's a small tut here http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=46275&hilit=caterpillar
I'm not sure if I have any screen capture software I will have to check.
Thank you Simon.
Steve....what can I say about that brilliant. We should see Pete, maybe he could alter the render challenge to modify and render, I would supply the models.John

Peter, your welcome.
A little customizing not half as good as Steve's! Gave up on the tires, each to their own.

Wow! I like your version better Much more realistic

Thanks for the model, John. I was going to ask about wireframes but this is even better! That jeep is a classic memory too. Besides all the MASH and Combat shows I watched, I had a little jeep toy as a kid. I can still recall the feel of it in my hand.

I don't know what John used for his amazing Jeep model, but here's some stuff that I was using when I was starting a Jeep model (which of course I have since abandoned after seeing John's models)
I also came across a 5-part article "Modeling a High Poly World War II Willys Jeep in Modo", not sure if it would be of any help but it can be found here - http://cg.tutsplus.com/tutorials/luxology-modo/modeling-a-high-poly-world-war-ii-willys-jeep-in-modo-part-1/ -
Thank you very much, Steve.
Wow, didn't expect that there'd be a response on the question that fast.
I've already read websites elsewhere here and there when I saw this.
Again, thank you very much. -
Sorry John,
Only just seen this/these. Absolutely fabulous stuff, been off the forum for a wee while but I hope to see some more soon.
