    Hello,

I've seen a video showing how to make a component from a rectangle drawn on a face, and

chosing to "cut an opening". (to opening a window in a wall.)
I'd like to see it again and can't manage to find it anymore.
The tick in the component windows called "cut an opening" is always frozzen.
Is anybody knows where I can find this tutorial again, or explain me how to activate this option?
    Thank you

Reality is only how the mind perceives it to be.

            Hello All

With help from the first of the two tutorials by Gaieus (noted further up in these replies) I created an undermount sink component to go into a 1 1/2" thick countertop. The sink will automatically cut the bottom layer of the countertop and then you just select and delete the portion of the top layer of the countertop that covers the sink. I'm pretty new to components so I don't know why this works. Additional instances of the sink component will cut both layers of the countertop.

I added a 1 1/2" high "frame" around the top of the sink that allows me to apply the same material to it as on the countertop to make it look like a true undermount sink. I then applied a metal material to the sink deck and bowls.

I'm going to create a library of sinks with various "frame" heights (3/4", 1 1/4", etc.) for different thicknesses of countertops.

I've attached a sample file for anyone that wants to view or download the sink component.
