For some reason I want to add an animated texture. have photoshop elements 10 (including nvidia tools), but that does not support alpha channels.

Is there a way to add alpha channels anyway, or are there other programs which can do that?

      ty in advance

@admins: You deleted not only a more complete duplicate of this, but also my reply. So here we go again:

        Hi,
what exactly do you want to achieve? SketchUp does not support animated textures (other than plugins that shift a texture in time intervals). I also haven't heard about how an alpha channel can be useful for animated textures. An alpha channel is another "sub image" in addition to a red, green and blue channel, and it adds information about each pixel's transparency. So you would be able to look through a textured face in SketchUp.

I believe you can create images with alpha channel in Photoshop Elements. Gimp can do it as well:
        • right-click on a layer → Add alpha channel (if it hasn't already)
        • use the Select tool to select an area and delete (DEL) it or cut it ou (ctrl+x)

Sorry Aerilius, though it was not me, sometimes shit happens when two mods are trying to delete duplicate posts at the same time and they cross work on it - or when they delete a topic (around) the same time someone else pushes the "Submit" button.

          Flame for example?

The thing I want to achieve is an object that has animated texture inside, for instance animated fireworks. So to achieve that, need to make a surface containing an animated picture, so it does not have anything to do about transperancy.

Which plugins can make a time interval on textures?
