Measure Tool - Scaling question?

Hi all
I currently have a model which I have at 1.1 scale. I would like to scale this to around 1:300th scale and one of the options I was going to use, was to take the length, scale it to the 1:285 value (6mm scale) Then measure that length with the measure tool and type scaled value.
So I click on the measure tool, click on the points and type the new value, however It does not scale to that new value. In fact, its considerably off.
I am using a 4 m length and scaling that to 1.4 cm . Is this simply to great a range to scale correctly?
Is there a better way?

It should work (unless you have external, imported components). However 400/300 is not 1.4 but 1.333...

Why do it in two steps? Why not measure the 4m distance and type in the desired new distance?

But maybe you need to apply the comma as decimal separator instead of the decimal dot? -
I think I know the problem
I had my units set to a lower precision.....0.00
Once I set the units to 0.0000 it all worked as described. Once lick and wham

Hi folks.
Try this trick instead of doing calculations that will never be exact, expecially with 1/300.
Add a line of 300 units anywhere in you model. Lets say you work in meters with a precision of one decimal, draw a line of 300 meters.
Then, select the Tape measure Tooland measure this new edge. Of course SU will show 300.0m in the Measurement Toolbar.
Type 1 and then press the Return key. No need to type a m for meters since SU will use that 1 with your default unit which happens to be meters.
When asked if you want to resize the whole model, click Yes. The added edges will now measure 1 meter and the whole model will have been reduced by the same factor.
Delete this extra edge when done.
By the way, if you want to resize for printing purpose, you don't really need to do that since it is possible to print to scale with SU. Read the help about printing to scale.
