Latest version for Mac?

Did you completely uninstall the previous version?
(When I messed around with different installs in different locations, I sometimes got a wrong version number, like if it was caused by remainders of another install.) -

[edit: Just now I completely uninstalled SU (so far as I know how - moved the application folder to trash and emptied), then downloaded a fresh image from the Trimble site, and it still says it is 8.0.15157. Is there somewhere else that it could be leaving cruft behind that I need to clean up? I hate it when there is no clear-cut uninstall!]
Thanks

Thanks
SteveI just used Pacifist to examine the disk image I downloaded from Trimble, and the info.plist in the package says 8.0.15157. This makes me think that the problem isn't on my end!

I followed that link, downloaded the package (yet again) and inside it the Info.plist still says 8.0.15157. Are you downloading the free or pro? I wonder if just the free is broken?
Thanks

I downloaded 'free', knowing that's what you want...
and that clipping was from the contents info.plist (via Pasifist)maybe... Clear all SU downloads, I have had issues with it grabbing the previous version to auto open?

That was a different link from Aerilius's that I used...

johnIf by that you mean to Trash them, I did that. This is getting really spooky! Plus, it is also SU itself that proclaims 8.0.15157 after I try to wipe it completely (following the instructions on the Trimble site) and start afresh...

Yep - I followed the link you posted and still got 8.0.15157. How is that possible

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/25114184/SketchUp%208.0%20Installer.pkgAlas, gone to 404 before I got there, but thanks for the try.
As an experiment, I downloaded from the Trimble site using a Windows box (selecting the Mac version of SU, though) and I still got 8.0.15157. I beginning to wonder if there is a network cache server somewhere holding onto an obsolete version?
[edit: the second time I tried, your package was there! Thanks! I'll let you know if it works!]

I can still get the dropbox download??
did you try download as, that should bypass any cache -

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/25114184/SketchUp%208.0%20Installer.pkgThat package finally worked! Now I'm more convinced than ever that something between me and Trimble is caching an old version. I wiped Safari's cache, so that shouldn't have been it. Something really strange is going on, but now I have 8.0.16845 again. Thanks a ton!
