Layout 3 vector style
-
I am new to layout and I am trying to create a schematic set for a house I am designing. The default styles do not show detail as far as I can tell. When I change from raster to vector for the plans the result is nice but it takes a llllooooonnnnnngggggg time! Vector gives me detail but it loses some of the lines, particularly the section cut walls. Are there any options for this? the tutorials on youtube are 2 - 4 years old. Styles are a big stumbling block to me so far. I'm sure there are easy ways to do these things..
Thanks,
Ron

This has been relayed to SketchUp team for a while now; I'd expect it to be fixed in the next release.....
Annoying I know.

The thing with displaying sections has been covered many times here. You need to make sure that the scenes in which you have section cuts have the styles updated to show those cuts. Do a search of the LayOut forum for Section Cuts.

Vector rendering a 3d model is a slow process that won't be easily fixed. Layout can vector render 2d line work just as fast as any CAD program - instantly in fact. Vector rendering a 2d wall, requires the rendering of only 4 lines. Vector rendering a 3d wall has a minimum of 12 lines. This grows exponentially if you have trim, window and doors in the wall.
