On Inferencing parallel to edge

Am I right in saying that you can not draw a line when inferencing another line that is within a group of component...? Damn annoying!!!!!

This works most of the time for me, but I've run into this on occasion. I just draw a quick line, matching the outside group. Most of the time though it works.....odd.

That's what I do too, Nick but it's just a pain.
I wonder why it works for some and not for others...?

If the group hasn't been 'transformed' [rotated, scaled etc] then the inference will work 'externally'.
However, if the group has been changed the inference won't work.
You'll just have to draw some guide-lines...
