When I get an unexpected result, how can I get back to the previous screen?

Do you mean you've moved the camera?
If so, Camera > Previous goes to the previous view
Do you mean you've performed an action?
Then Edit > Undo or CRTL + Z will restore the previous state up to 100 i think.
