Vertical dimensions

Hi,
Is there some way to do automatic vertical dimensioning with help of these scrapbook components?
I thougt they'd have somekind of "grippoint"I could just move to the basepoint and voila! But sadly it doesnt seem to work this way

It would be nice if LO could handle Ruby plugins
LO could be powerful as SU
I can imagine how some of the current Ruby plugins would automate/enrich LO workflow.
TIG did the Coords Text Tag from Datum v2.2 20120829.
