Edges fading out as orbiting
-
This is a picture of edges on a face. I seem to get these dotty lines a lot lately. There are edges that are not even visible in this shot, that will appear when I orbit, as well as the dotty edges you see. Is there some way to make SU display solidly all the time. Seems to me this is worsening and maybe it is just my machine. Is this the best there is?
And those dotty edges, and ones you cannot see (drawn "On Face") ARE on the face. The closed shape is a divided face, for example.

We need a head-scratching smiley.
Is it possible that a change to the OpenGL settings would change that behavior? Would you want to post that model or send it to me via PM or e-mail. I can check it on both PC and Mac and see if I get the same results or not.

I thought it was importing dwg that did it. But I find that it's the file size. a smaller file doesn't do this to me. It doesn't have to be too big at all to show that. I'll send a couple files as I can make a new file do this by adding polygons. Similar files, different visuals.

Can you share the model?
I'm guessing the size (not file size) but size in 3D space is either too large, too small - or too far away from origin.

Thanks guys--that was it. OpenGL.I guess I have come to think that hardware acceleration could cause problems. So I made sure it was OFF. Now it looks like this behavior is stopped by having it ON. I don't know when this started or I started noticing it, but it crept up on me. I kept thinking it shouldn't be funky like this, but doubting. So thanks. I guess you have to try everything.
It will only start after about 3300 faces in a model. I could turn it on off by reducing faces, but that's a pretty small file.
Thanks again. Peter

Well, I'm glad you got it sorted out.
Now go to bed.
