When you select files and Right Click > Send To > Compressed (Zipped) Folder you don't get a ZIP file?
That's all what I do - no external applications.

Does SketchUp not install it, or does SketchUp install it but not load the plugin (no menu/toolbar etc.)?

Plugins are only loaded when there is a a *.rb file directly in the Plugins directory. It happened to some people that a zip program put the compressed files into an additional folder inside the zip archive.

I think he's saying that the folder is compressed - by the filesystem - instead of creating a XIP file.

Are sure you are actually making a ZIP file [NOT a system compressed-file]...
If so... are your settings to display ALL file-type extensions [Folder-Options].
If not then xxx [which actually represents xxx.zip] will rename to xxx.rbz which in turn is representing xxx.rbz.zip, which is therefore still a 'zip' file, and therefore it is not listed when using the RBZ archive installer.

When I right click on a selected file or files in windows explorer the send to option for compress is a zipped folder not a zipped file like it was previously.

Dan what option do you use in 7zip I tried that but SU could not install from that file when I renamed it rbz???

7zip supports a lot of archive formats. What you want for SketchUp is zip (not 7z). The default settings for zip should be ok. Did that work?

Yes 7Zip worked when I selected send to xxxxxxxxxx.zip file. Thanks

Still don't understand what happened to my Win7 to make this a problem!!! I assume it came with one of the updates.

                    Thanks

Hasn't happened on any of my personal computers and none of the computers at the office...

Mistry with win7 zip files solved!!! Some how my folder option to hide known extensions was selected and this created the problem making a ziped file a ziped folder. I know I had nothing to do with that change as it took me a long time to find Folder Options after I started looking for them.
