I’m a fan of Tig's hole punching tool plugin. After the most recent SketchUp update (Version 8.0.14346), however, I’ve been having problems. Components that worked well with hole punch before the update no longer work. For example, the scalable double hung window from the 3D warehouse works with the older version of SketchUp (8.0.11752) but not with the most recent one. I used to be able to punch a single hole that corresponded to the size of the window. Now it punches several seemingly random holes that relate to bits of the window frame. I’ve been able to update many of my components to work with hole punch once again but I haven’t figured out what I can do with scalable double hung window to make it work. Does anyone have any ideas?

You're more likely to get the attention of the developer if you post in the thread of the plugin. The post might not be seen of the developer if not.

I'm not familiar with the plugin so I'm afraid I cannot help.

I too found problems with punching this component.
The issue seems to be that the three parts forming the sill are coincident with the front cutting plane of the main frame parts, and therefore there are coincident faces/edges etc.
Whilst this does not affect the appearance of the 'cut' instance it does mangle the cut-hole and this in turn is utilized for the punched-hole !

It is easily fixed... a minor bit of editing will do it.

Edit the scalable-window component and go into its subcomponents.
End a sill-end and pushpull the end-face in from the side by ~1mm [or less]; also pushpull up its underside by the same amount [double-click face in pushpull tool].
Tidy up any loose flaps at the other end where it will abut the mid-section
Repeat this for the other sill-end end-face and underside etc.
Also edit the sill's mid-section and move its underside up by the same tiny amount, also tidy up any flaps at the ends.
The sill now no longer interferes with the cut-hole's outline [and thereby the punched-hole's outline is good].
Now when you use the 'Hole Punch' tool the internal reveals' hole is made matching the corrected external rectangular cut-hole.
Do a Save_as on the adjusted DC so that you can use in other projects, without having to edit again...
