Can I get some help making Perforated Metal?
-
Hi,
I am a newbie here, and also in vray for sketchup. I need to get perforated metal panel rendered and I struggled couple days to get it work but...No progress.. I need you guys profession please..
ok...
so, what I did was,,- I started with importing Alum- matt.vismat for metal panel. I do believe this works fine if you render.
- Now, I need to punch a hole(not physically in the model but in vray)
- I don;t know how critical it is in vray material editor, material in your material list you have 'Reflection'and 'diffuse' in the bottom.
since I brought alum-matt.vismat, It is showing Reflection on top and diffuse on bottom. - I click 'M' in difuse color and insert black and white perforated image.
- clock 'M' in transparency (textinvert) texture,, put same image.
what I get it after these process is metal texture with some sort of black hole which is not perfectly punched but with black translucent but still having the surface.
If you don't have 'Reflection' layer and do the same thing like 4 & 5 then you get pretty clear hole punched but not like metal...just white default.
So, to make long question short, how do I combine perforated effect with metal texture??
Can someone help me on this? Thank you

put the black&white perforated texture to the Reflection color slot, too
