Installing a plug-in
-
Hello, All!
I have a need to export a Sketchup file as a .obj, so I downloaded Tig's objectexporter plug-in. The download comes in as a .RB file. When I go to Sketchup8 Install extention menu, it seems to be looking for a .RBZ file. Not suprisingly, if I change the name of the file to objectexporter.rbz, it will not install in the ruby panel.
Thanking anyone in advance for help.

zip the .rb file and then rename the .zip to .rbz
then use the preferences panel to install extension.
or......
drag the .rb file directly into your plugins folder and restart SketchUp if its already running

Or simply copy the rb file here:
C:\Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp 8\Plugins -
Thank both of you,
The plugin is now a choice in my "File" dropdown in Sketchup.
I should have been able to have worked thru that one, but sometimes those types of file management problems buffalo me.Thanks again.
Walt.
