Image import is black

I imported and image and it comes in as all black, even though in the material editor it is depicted correctly. Is there a setting that is incorrect?

Post your image so we can all look at it and test it...
Then... if we get the same problems there might be a problem with the image.
If we don't get them... then the problem is with your setup... [or you]... -
Is it an RGB image? SU on Windows has issues with CMYK images. Otherwise indeed, post the image itself.
