In model colours
-
Hi, could someone tell me how to identify in the materials "in model" colours what colour has been used on models I have downloaded from 3D warehouse. As there can be numerous colours in the in model selection I find it difficult to find which particular colour to select when wanting to edit the material for rendering.

'In model' refers to the particular model you have loaded into SU rather than all the ones you may have downloaded. Use the dropper to sample a color you see in the model; check the entity properties for info on the color of a selected entity.

Hi Brooke
I am running Mac so don't have a dropper, I have tried selecting the colour on the model then looking in the entity properties but this only lists a definition number e.g. obj_000007 whatever this means? doesn't seem to be any corresponding reference in the in model colour chart. Excuse my ignorance but new to this.

Select the object with the materials window open, and the colors in model tab will highlight the color in the materials list. It is slight, just a gray rectangle around the color. Then you can edit it.

Actually, you do have the eye dropper. Select the Paint Bucket tool and hold Command while clicking on the face.
