Bringing life to my 32 Ford Rod
-
Wow, is that my '56? Didn't look that good for me. Hey, maybe I should try to sell it somewhere!
-
Still working on the 32. This image is just out of the oven after a 30 minute bake. Will generate about a page of criticisms, observations and notes relative to a single image. Then more mapping, tweaking of existing maps and possibly some model geometry adjustments before I hit the render button again. I think it may take me longer to achieve satisfactory renderings than it took to build the model.

Yes, I often speak in tongues (I have three of them, all forked)

You should let me hold a copy of that for you to --um--safeguard...

what an amazing piece of work. insane detail and it really sells the renderings.

@ Kristoff and Andy - Thanks guys
This level of model detail does lead to more realistic renders but makes the texture and lighting application process much more involved. I'm just starting to experiment with individual lights versus using the sun only. Also have not ventured into any serious post p efforts yet. Learning as I go and I work very slowly.

Only a suggestion: Place a piece of shinny sheet metal on the firewall...

Can I have mine in black please? Lovely model/render.

View through the rear window of the 32. 160 mph speedo and 10K tach with redline set at 8500 rpm. Currently limiting the revs to about 6000 because Steve doesn't think the engine sounds good at idle. Waiting for him to tune it for me.
This image created after 60 minute bake at 2400x1200 res. Used combination of sun and an interior overhead light panel (300w) for lighting. Still limited on render lighting as IndigoRT doesn't support light layers or ies files.

What, no 8-track? It's gotta have an 8-track. Please take care of that. Thank you

There.

can we see a poly rendering of the car? what kind of poly count is it?

No additional tools, No plugins (for the modeling), No imports except for some textures.
You must have the patience of Job considering all the curved surfaces! Wow ...
I laboured for may years before I found this site, good models without plugins are posible but are massive pain in the arse!!!

My God look at that.. so awesome. I've seen the thread with the modeled engine, gosh you're a genius ! And one of the few around here who pay attention to those minor but essential details Me like.
