Precise texture alignment along different groups?
-
Hello,
I modeled a house and each floor is a separate group. Now I want to add a stone wall texture on a wall, but since the wall spans 3 different groups I can't get the textures to align perfectly and I get visible seams (this is not due to the texture as the texture itself is seamless)
When I try to position a texture on one group the textures of the other groups are not visible so I can't eyeball the position either.
Which is the best way around this issue? I thought of using projected textures but I am not sure if they would work and maybe there is a better solution.

OK, I found a way that seems to work fine (sampling the texture from one group and then applying it to the next)

For some reason this isn't working for me here.
2 groups, materials won't align. ideas?tried sampling one from the other, resetting position and using the texture positioning plugin.
nothing worked.

Share the SKP at least of the groups you're trying to texture.

Sorry for the bump.
took a break and when I came back I realized one material was on the face level while the other was on a group level, applied the material to both faces directly and they aligned.
maybe this will help someone else.thanks
