Stefan G. Bucher is a wonderful graphic artist who among many things has created hundreds of lovable monsters. I got the opportunity to model one of his creations along with his input and turn it into a tutorial mini publication available here on SketchUcation, model included.

This guy was a blast to model. Here is a rendering with Twilight.

Great tutorial! You explain things in a way that even I can understand. Thanks πŸ‘

Hi all. I just got word today from Stefan that he received the 3D prints of this monster. He got a colored and non colored version from i.materialise.com
Better photos to follow, he just shot this with his phone real quick. Pretty cool.

Looks fun, is it based on a toucan ? Prettu impressive 3d model as well it even picked up the delicate parts along the back although they look super fragile ! Does the the 3d printer create the colored version or is applied later ?

Not sure, I can ask. He did send the original version of the model off to be printed and the head was too heavy, it broke the neck. I revised the model for him and the result is what you see in the photo.
