Is it possible to have only part of a SU drawing in X-ray mode. For example, to see through a wall to see furniture or layots in a building?

        No.

But there are some 'tricks' - like making some walls or floors/ceilings as groups and putting them on an 'OFF' layer, OR giving the back face of a single-skin wall a fully-transparent material - that way from the room-side it is still solid/colored, but from the outside it is 'not there' - just like a two-way-mirror-wall loved by spy-films πŸ˜‰
If you have Pro then Layout could be used in conjunction with different Styles/Layers in the SKP to overlay the same views and then parts could appear solid or as 'x-ray' ?
