Time before rendering
-
Hi this is my first post.
I use sketchup 8 with vray 1.49 on I7 2630qm processor, 12gigs RAM nvidia 540.
I have problem with time witch is before opening the render window. For exemple file 40mb with building and some Fur grass make it 380000faces.I uses some emmisive material too. I made 800x600 render in 5 miniutes but I was waiting 10mminutes for opening render window. Is this normal? Im scarred to think about some 100mb files. I thoght that inceasing ram from 4 to 12 will do the thing but it wont. When I delete the fur grass it takes about 10seconds so its very big diffrent. Anybody help how to reduce this time??? -
That's been my experience too. If you have heavy geometry, it takes a very long time to load into vray. That's just the nature of the 32bit environment that sketchup is limited to.

12 Gigs wont mean much in this plugin. SU can only utilize 4 max right now. This is the limitation of a 32bit program and I really dont know what Google hasn't addressed this with a 64-bit version yet. I really hope they are doing amazing things with the next release because we have been waiting a long time. I would not render 100MB files anytime soon.

Thanks for your response guys. I hope they'll make it for 64bit. Now my 12 gigs are waiting for a new version:)
