V-Ray doesn't save all my material settings. I've got a concrete floor that has a Reflection layer and a bump map but when I open the scene in the morning the Reflection layer is gone and there's nothing in the bump category. I think this is happening to several other materials also.

Anyone have any advice about this? Thanks.

If you're using the lastest version, I cannot help you. If not, this should be of help: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=322&t=32623

Are you using the old 1.05.30 version?

(Please post exactly the version number of VfSU you are using when asking questions. Helps a lot when coming up with the correct answer.)

          1.49.01

I wonder if it has to do with my opening the scene on a computer that doesn't have V-Ray. I have V-Ray on my home computer but the company that I work for doesn't have a license. So I model at work then render at home in the evening. Not sure if that's causing the screw up but it's a PIA. I have to write down all the settings and double check before I render.

          Thanks for your replies.

I think your explanation is the right one.

For saving time, you can save your VRay materials (right click on material name > Save material).
Next time you open the file, right click on VRay material name > Import material. All settings will be restored... 😉

If you are copying and pasting between SU windows or loading components, that will often mess up materials (delete all the layers except diffuse) when working in vray. That is a bug currently.
