MLB playoffs/World series anyone?
-
I tried this last year with very scarce response so I'm assuming I'm pretty much alone on this topic.
However.... How about those Rangers?
I will be watching tonight's game between the Yankies and Tigers, hoping for a NY win as I'd like to beat them in the American league.
Then face the Phillies in the world series and kick their butt's only because they woo'd Cliff Lee away from us with their huge purse.
GO RANGERS!!
Second year in a row...

My monologue continues....
The Tigers beat the Yankies, which again proves money cannot buy happiness or the world series.
I was reading all the blogs, rants and comments and it's amazing that the fans call this a failure...really, they reach the playoffs and that's a failure? Anyway the fans of baseball as they call themselves are now looking ahead to the Phillies vs Detroit world series...unbelievable, they forget that Detroit has to beat Texas first, it's almost as if Texas are invisible in the race to the champoinship.
Go Texas show them that last year was not a fluke and that you are the new force in baseball...without the money and ego.

Pete,
The playoffs so far have been pretty entertaining! I must admit - I loved seeing the Yankees lose the other night. I have liked Leyland (coach of Detroit) since he was the coach here of the Pirates. Obviously part of the local crowd (I live in central PA) is disappointed in the Phils losing, but I think the Cards vs. Brewers series will be a good one as well. The pitching duel the other night with the cards / phils game 5 was something else.
While much too slow for a lot of people - I love the little nuances that make the game what it is. Hopefully they will resume the game tonight if the weather allows.
