Import dwg. files in SketchUp 8
-
Hello everyone,
I just upgraded from SketchUp pro 7 to the free SketchUp 8 that is available online and noticed that the import settings in the new version do not allow the import of dwg./dxf. files into the drawing, unlike the previous SketchUp 7. Is there any way of working around this, so that I can import dwg. files into SketchUp 8?
This is crucial for me as I usually start modeling on SketchUp after importing the Autocad plans, and building upon them..

Simple: buy version 8 pro !
Or you can continue to use v7 pro to do the dwg/dxf imports and then continue working on that SKP file with v8 free.
You can have different versions of Sketchup installed on the same computer - v8 will open SKP files by default, BUT you can 'save_as' to v7 from a v8 SKP, if you find you need v7 pro tools not available in v8 free... Version 7 can't open v8 SKP files but v8 can open v7 SKP files AND also save v8 SKP files as a v7 SKP.
