Bryce free to download

Ah well. I still like retsina (maybe I am a tourist).
We have a new, small restaurant in town with Czech beers (on tap) and Czech cuisine. Going there for lunch with family on Sunday, too.
-
Retsina = expect nightmares at night. Trust me.
I did some more tests, this one with easily constructed UVs and rendered in podium.
-
So use Bryce as a before modeler!
-
Exactly Pilou.
For some reason I can't understand, obj comes as separated faces, importing to blender and deleting doubles fixes it (one click operation)
I exported a huge tree from bryce as 3ds and by mistake I tried to import directly to SU. lol. Well, it's working perfectly, as bryce uses grouped components. Good news.
Another one tip: these trees can be rendered in bryce with alpha transparent background. With or without antialiasing. -
I will ask to a Bryce specialist and tell you his answer as soon as possible

@stinkie
I already started.
A decimated version, this is one single mesh BTW, no need to be so but after so many beers...
-
Happy birthday, michalis!
Any unopened beer cans? -
I have not yet the answer but have you not forget to enable or disable something like weld commun edges or similar?
Just suposition I have not run bryce for a whileIn the other way import OBJ to Bryce, this last one supports very big files!
And works very fine with OBJ from Moi if you are not speed for the render -
Happy birthday young man
FYI Retzina is unique table wine , actually made of tables.
-
Only some retsina,
thank you, the best wishes I had so far. -
It is a bit late but no way,
I wish you the best dear Michalis.

Never to late
Thank you simon. The only forum I had so nice and many wishes. Not a regular SU user these days.
I'm wondering... involved in dark forums, -
Sorry I missed the birthday wishes....
But as you say never too late. Hope you had an enjoyable day turning 18

@Michalis
I have the aswer
No specific problem for export trees in OBJ format!
So i don't know what say moreA little curiosity!
If you have WIN 7 try to run Bryce in WInXP mode emulated
All works many more fine! -
Thanks pilou. On OSX 10.6.8 actually. It doesn't run very well. It won't run under OSX 10.7.
"No specific problem for export trees in OBJ format!"
who says so? lol. I tried under XP and had the same issues. As the free obj SU exporter plugin.
Some people claim that obj isn't a good format. They probably don't know much about 3d file exchange.I remember this app from 97. It didn't change much. Renderer is still ridiculous as textures are.
But it works for me. To import huge objs there is possible but why to do so? Even the old BlenderInternal renderer is better and faster.
Terrain designing: of course someone can use elevation maps and export obj or 3ds but again, sculptris is free and can do miracles compared to bryce. Voxels are the best choice for terrain design anyway. (3DCoat) -
Maybe there is a difference between Free and Pro export obj function?
But as you have found a tricky workflow with Blender for erase this little annoyous problem
all is is good in the better of the worlds -
@ pilou, 3ds format works fine as SU will weld all double vertices automatically.
Thank you Rich.
