Imported images not appearing in render?

    I've been trying to import an image (specifically a logo) to put onto a piece of equipment i've drawn in SketchUp. However, when the image is rendered (in Kerkythea) it doesn't appear? Is there a specific way to do this or am i missing something? Any help appreciated.

      You need to explode the imported image before the exportation to KT.

        Well, Massimo beat me (no wonder his name is in purple) but then at least I know I am on the right track here:

        Now I cannot exactly remember if an image entity can be rendered in Kerky at all but if not, explode it (it will become a face with the image applied as texture) and it should render this way.

        Certainly if you placed the image right on top of a face, you will need to move it a bit to the front before exploding (although this only depends on the image itself - you only need to do this if it has any transparent areas or it is not rectangular)

          Cool, thanks for the speedy and informative responses (as always!). I've moved the images a couple of millimetres forward of the face so it should hopefully recognise them as 'in-front'. Hopefully Kerkythea should be able to render them...i seem to find something it can't do every time i use it, i suppose that's the downfall of using a free engine...though that's a necessity as a poor student. I'll let you know how i get on, thanks again.

            Well, there are pretty few render engines that can render SU image entities (you always need to explode and make it real geometry) so it is not really the "cheap" renderer (which Kerky is not really actually - unless you literally mean the unbeatable price).

              I didn't say "cheap", i said "free"...which is an unbeatable price which i can't afford to rise above at the moment! I've exploded the images and they render fine. I had wanted to use an alpha layer so stop there being a white box around the images but my patience is wearing thin. It works though, thanks very much guys.

                Of course I did not mean that you said "cheap" that way (you did not say cheap at all, I know). In fact, Kerkythea is a great application and beats many commercial renderers, too.

                If you use png transparency, it can also render that so you do not need to create a separate clipping mask. What image format is that logo in?
