I am looking for a tutorial on how to build a bamboo bird cage in sketchup. I know there is one already in Google 3D warehouse, but I want to make one myself rather than using someone else's model. I understand it can be done with follow-me tool, and I am trying to figure how it is done.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Perhaps posting an image of what you want to end up with would help members think of ways of achieving it............

You could model just one section of the cage, make it a component, and then copy it around a circle as an array.

As said make a bit and rotate+ctrl to copy around...
Make the paths for the 'bars' and use a circle as the profile and extrude it along the paths with FollowMe...

As described above is exactly how these lobster pots were made.
