Hi all, my name is deskjetter and I'm pleased to see you all. I am in the process of buying a new Compaq CQ5720f PC with Windows 7 Premium 64 bit installed. My question lies with the AMD Radeon HD 3000 Graphics card installed in this PC. Does anyone know anything about this graphics chip and will the Sketchup Pro 8 program I have work well with it?

      Any/all responces are welcome.

I've an AMD Radeon 4500 Series that's runs SU fairly ok. But given a choice I'd get nVidia.

Download the free D'oh Book for SketchUp 📖

          Hi Rich,
I have a GeForce 220 in my present PC, and it works well, but on the cq5720f I'm buying there is NO pci Express x16 slot to put it in so I'm stuck with the AMD Radeon HD 3400. There are other things with the Windows 7 install I have that urged me to upgrade to the new PC as well. I'm just worried that the 3400 won't work well with my SketchUp Pro 8.

My HD4850 GDDR4 runs just fine since over 2 years. I really would like to upgrade, but sadly I can't see any reason for this, even Lumion runs like a charm on this (old) card.
I could not imagine your 3000 will make big problems. Why don't you try your card with a complex model and the free version of su?
