SketchUp Pro 8 Update?

Quick question... I'm running SU 8 Pro, and its prompting me to update to the latest version... if I install it, will this affect my plugins, templates, etc? Will I have to redo everything?

Shouldn't do but as a precaution you should just make backups of those folders you have extra content in.
Enjoy the extra grunt of the update

I keep getting that pop up too.
I have been assuming its because I am still running Sketchup 7.1 on the same computer as Sketchup 8.
I have not tried updating, but if you click the link, it takes you to the Sketchup 8 download, which is what I already have -
If you are bored with those popups, you can turn the function off under Preferences > General > Software updates...

Does that mean there should also be an update to the free version on the way as well?

No, the versions are always updated together. In fact, there is just one core program.
Your version is the most up-to-date now - it came out some time in January or February. Aaron may still have had the previous version (from September).
