Paintbucket opacity on Mac?

Is the paintbucket opacity supposed to change in realtime?
The instructional video I've watched on the google sketchup webpage says it is, but it does not on my Mac (10.6.7), I'm running sketchup pro. -
I assume you mean the 'transparency' of materials ?
Your current 'Style' must have transparency 'checked' for it to be seen - you can also adjust its 'quality' in the drop-down...
I know this is a PC screenshot but there is a very similar MAC version...

you do need to, select color, adjust 'opacity', apply color then re-adjust and re-apply to see changes
