      OK, Page setup, true.

I don't know... I have a printer installed that can only print A4 but I can set the page up to A0 (that would be 5 times larger)

Went back to "page setup" to triple check just in case I missed something. I have every option for index cards and photos known to man, but nothing approaching 24x36. Is it a function of my personal printer, or is this the options that came with LO ? If LO, how can I get the bigger sizes so I can make this work? If my printer, do I need to go buy another one just to get the size options ? I have HP Deskjet 5600 currently installed.

I also have PDFCreator installed. It installs in the system as a virtual printer, maybe try to install it, too:

I have the PDFCreator installed already, and it's a go. Thanks for the suggestion ! Worked perfectly, now if I can only remember it next time I need to do something similar.

Uh oh, spoke too soon. When I convert to a pdf I get this crosshatch of lines dividing the poster into ten or so squares. What can I do to rid these lines. I have no idea where they came from as I don't have them in the LO file.

You probably have the grid turned on to print.

Go to file/document set up/grid. At the bottom there are options to print the grid or not.

                  Slimdog,
It's not the grid setting. That's the first thing I checked. The grid is in 24 equal squares though on the pdf. I'm still baffled.

Does it not work using the native File->Export->PDF (I assume you're seeing this problem with PDFCreator)?

                      John,Otis,

The file I posted was exported directly from LayOut. For some reason Otis has difficulties opening it - it opens OK in my Adobe Acrobat 9. File>Properties says that it is a version 7 file, so it seems that LO export into that. What version of Adobe Viewer are you using?

Yes, it does it as well in the native file-pdf method as well. When I export it as image it appears ok. I don't know if they can print the poster from such a file or not. Will ask them tomorrow.

                          Hi Anssi,
I looked and it says Adobe reader 9.
