Model of a War Statue... PLEASE!!!
-
Hey Guys, I'm on the hunt for a statue of a Solider Statue; anyone got one like this?
I've been asked to a model of a memorial precinct and this is the clay model they have had made up; quite impressive up close!!!!
Have to get it done within 24 hours so if anyone's got something close I can play around with it would be great!!

This may not be much help but I remember not too long ago there was a post showing a small program that would splice photos taken from several angles to make a model. I tried to find it in a search but no luck. The community memory may serve better.

Maybe Tgi3D?
http://www.tgi3d.com/index.php?Page=PhotoScanIt would be a bit pricey for a single project although looks extremely powerful!

That is the one I was thinking of, and it is pricey. Maybe utiler can get one good model out of the 30 day trial??? Hopefully the trial isn't laden with use restrictions.

I think the restrictions are only that you can edit a certain amount of mesh at a time.

I just spent an hour playing around and bodging this together from something else...
It needs work - shoulders need stitching to the body, pockets, collar, neck etc BUT it is only work! I pass the baton over to you now ANZAC.skp -

Tgi3D SU PhotoScan 30-Day Trial is unrestricted.
Indeed, PhotoScan would be a perfect match to create an accurate 3D model of the statue from photographs. If you have several photographs of the statue taken at different angles making sure that each point is seen at least two photographs, you can use PhotoScan. Even when you have missing views, you can create a 3D model that "best fits" the photographs using the rest of the Tgi3D modeling tools included in PhotoScan.
I would not promise the world here though, there is a bit of a leaning curve and 24 hrs may not be enough time to master the tool. In fact, we are currently working on features specific to PhotoScan to make it easier and faster to master. But if you have the time, I would say, it would be worth to take a look.

Thanks Gulcan, I gladly stand corrected.

Thanks guys and especially to you TIG; I didn't expect someone to try and do my work for me.....!
I'll have a look at Tgi3D and see what comes.
