Remove materials except glass
-
Hi All
Anybody know of a quick method to remove materials but leave the glass material. I need a style like hidden line but still need to apply a brick texture to a wall and have the glass showing...

Sounds like you could use the "clay rendering" setting of some render programs. Have you tried any?

couldn't you select all the glass (right click in material palette) and hide it, then select the rest and set the material to default?

If they are all in the same context select one 'glass' face and right-click > Select > All with Same Material.
Now Invert the Selection - there are several tool to do this... ***OR Group + Cut the Selected faces.
Select all of the rest and paint them with the default material.
Now if you have just inverted the Selection now you have what you want... ***OR PasteInPlace + Explode and the glass faces are back... -
You can right-click on materials in the In Model tab (little house icon) of the Material browser and select "Delete" from the menu.

AnssiWhich is an excellent way... if there are only a few materials - but it does have the advantage of removing these materials in nested contexts etc...

Hi All
Thanks for the suggestions, it was a rush job so in the end just deleted all materials then re input the glass. I will have a play with TIG's suggestion as this will not be the last time.
Thanks All
Matthew
