Re-Installing Sketchup Pro

OK, I have Sketchup 8 Pro on my laptop. I would like to re-install Sketchup 8 Pro to see if it will cure my problem with the component insert.
I downloaded the Sketchup 8 Pro file. However it will not install because I have Sketchup on this computer. I was hoping that there was a repair option in the install.
So, how can I re-install Pro without losing the Pro version. I don't want to go to the free version?

So, if I remove Sketchup and do a re-install, the info in the license Info will keep Sketchup in the pro mode?

I also had to reinstall SU the other day. Although I had a repair option (XP), that did not help so I had to do a complete uninstall then reinstall and the license info remained there. True that my toolbars had to be re-adjusted as well as my shortcuts (but you can export them before the uninstall and import after the reinstall)

Well, I finaly have Sketchup re-installed. Had to find the email with the license number and the autherization code. Don't loose that email.
Rich you helped in reminding me that I had an email with the info I needed beside the license number.

Gaieus, do you mean you can export and import your plugin or just the shortcuts?
So, now my compontent drop down memu is working correctly again. And I un-installed some plugins I don't use that much. A cleaner and meaner program. Guess I will do this more offen.
