Basic Cutting List
-
HI Guys. I have not been able to get Cutlist 4 to work on my PC, but I am not to concerned as the standard board sizes are not the standard board sizes in my country so it would not work for me. What I am looking for though is a basic "cutting list" plugin that could create a board/sheet optimization based on the boards in a model/component. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Although it's not a plugin for SketchUp, so therefore may not be what you're looking for, but... I've used a program called Pepakura Designer (US$38), typically used for paper craft, to unfold or even just organize a cut sheet.

Why can't you get Cutlist 4 to work? And what board sizes do you need?

Hey Dave. Cutlist loads fine to Sketchup 8/Windows 7 and I can see everything and change setting but it does not run...? SA has 2 standard board sizes 2750mm x 1830mm and 2750mm x 1220mm. I do run an external optimizer but I could speed everything up if I could optimize straight from Sketchup.

If the plugin doesn't run, there are two likely problems. Either it isn't installed correctly or you haven't got IE installed. If you want to try to use it, let me know by PM and I'll help. As to board dimensions--I assume you are referring to sheet materials--there may be an option we can try. If you've already given up on it, I won't bother.
