Anybody know how to wrap a .dwg around a sketchup curve? I'm creating a 3D model from CAD elevations and the facade of the building is curved so I would like to wrap the drawing around the curve I have created in sketchup, create faces and push/pull the windows and doors. I guess almost like photo matching except with a working drawing. Thanks.

You could try making the imported dwg into a group/compo ['add_faces' to its edges first] and then use Chris Fullmer's ShapeBender on it... bend it around the curve and when you are happy explode it into place as appropriate...

If you wrap the elevation around the curve, you will have some extremely hard time creating those faces for openings and such.

You could try to project the elevation onto that curve however (there is some plugin for this - or if you lay both horizontally, you can use the drape tool, too.

Maybe the best would be however to create the faces on the flat elevation and use the PushPull tool to go through the curved surface. Then keep the "flat" faces for some of the elements (like windows) unless they are curved to the extreme themselves (although windows tend to be flat on curved façades...)

Thanks for your help guys. I added faces to the .dwg, deleted the doors and windows which I will add as components later, and draped the drawing over the curved surface. Seems to be working thus far. Keep your fingers crossed! 😍
