Nice. We have one that our son has used since he was barely able to sit up. He still uses it today and I expect will for some time. We never used the front bar, though. I did a model of it for someone a few years ago. I wish I'd had that front bar to model as well just to make it complete.

Would you mind some constructive comments about your model?

Not at all. It only helps me getting better at modelling ...

            Thanks Urgen

Glad you like it. Nice to finally be able to give something back to the SCF-community. It's a great place to hang out and people are very generous β˜€

It's just difficult to know if something is worthwhile sharing here. I mean in terms of quality of models ...
(This one is the first model I'm not ashamed of showing 😳 )

I will say this again: my favourite chair!!

I used this chair when I was a baby and I still use it as a perch, 23 years later!!! It's in perfect condition, looks brand new.

Obviously the seat is a few pegs further down now. πŸ˜†

Thanks so much for sharing. good taste!! πŸ˜‰

How are the seat and footrest secured in the channels? I suspect that the panels are rabbeted where they "lock" into the side rails? We bypassed this fine piece by using some molded polyethylene or polypropylene chair from Playskool or somebody. πŸ˜’

I take the slow, deliberate approach in my aimless wandering.

The seat and footrest are essentially clamped between the two uprights. There are socket-headed screws in the sides that thread into the black rods. To change the position of the horizontal parts, you loosen the screws on one side slightly. I was skeptical at first but the chair has been extremely rigid and it has never loosened on its own. I can even sit in it without worry if I remove the small seat and move the footrest up so it becomes the seat.

Now I can imagine you sitting there and being fed and with food spread all over the seat.

When I eat, I have to put the chair on a big piece of plastic sheet to keep from spilling food on the floor. πŸ˜„

                              Thanks for the nice comments.

I haven't been drawing lately due to a lack of time and energy (my youngest doughter is keeping me up at night ... again) but this gives me the courage to get back behind my computer...

old thread....but this reminds me so much of my childhood. πŸ˜„ We've sent the tripp trapp away to be reconditioned, it's almost 30 years old and still rigid.
