Bent tubes / hoops.

Firstly let me thank you all for your excellent contributions. I have just spent over an hour looking through some of your tips and plugins and you are doing an amazing job.Anyway, I work for a company that requires some not too detailed drawings of hoop barriers just to show some of our clients.
What would you recommend would be the best way to draw a very smooth, bent hoop / bent tube. Our product is simply a 50 mm diameter steel tube that is bent in half to create a hoop barrier.Sorry that my first post is so long and boring, but any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated.

Can u provide a pic as an example? I trying to figure out is it a hoop with a bend or a tube with a bend?
Do you use SketchUp? If so post an example of where your exactly having trouble so we can help you out!
