Subdivision Modeling

I came across this on the Thea forum, posted by Notareal, very informative and very relevant to creating proxys for subdividing with SDS.
Check out this video.

Wondering is there would be a way to create a ruby that could take a model or a selection of faces and turn all polys into quads? This would really help me for one to create smooth lower poly meshes.

I went to your render link and it isnt free that I see. it was $160 to buy on my screen.
Please don't say FREE TRIAL. everything has that. doesnt mean the tool is free.

What tool are you referring to anyway? If this is about Thea Render License, it was β¬158.54 last time I checked. But unless I am totally mistaken, this thread (and this one also ) has nothing to do with misleading folks with "freeware" which is not free.

He must be talking to the advertising bot.

Great video Pete. Thanks for posting this. It now explains why the Shark FX gang always got so hung up on ACIS quadrilaterals (being better to have) as opposed to polygons

Maybe...Michael: which rendering engine was it?
If you want to give a try to a free one, have a look at Kerkythea. Really great app for entirely free! -
