Here is the proxy, I used SDS sculpt for button indentations (new).

@Spence, SDS2 is still in Alpha, should be in Beta soon then release 1st 1/4 2011.
-
@solo: how did you made those places where the buttons are? As I can see, the proxy doesn't have any deformations.

Yes, that is what I can not figure how he did !
... as the proxy is flat on that areas. -
That's some new feature of SDS2 (still alpha)

-
It had to have been done after subdividing so the proxy would not show anything.
-
The reason I asked for the proxy was that I was trying to do this exact shape yesterday with SDS using the polygon tool.

In the end I did it in Blender, exported/imported yadda yadda yadda

Thanks Eric, these sofas are really nice, make a good training.
Here is my version, took quite some time though.
Actually I lost track of the proportions while trying to figure out how to get the button indentations right, but I think it looks quite ok.SDS1, Weld, Tube Along Path;

Wow, very well done.

Awesome modeling everyone! Let's see some more!
-
So, when SDS2 comes out will SDS1 become free? If so, I'll probably try that out before purchasing v2.
-
I'll post a quick tutorial tomorrow on the sculpting tool, I just upgraded both my router and TV today so my wireless network is currently down.
Anyone seen the image on the new LED tv's? OMG!!!
-
Wow! I've never seen the diva sofa set and I REALLY like it a lot!!
Nice modeling guys, you have done them great justice!
-
Here is a quick peak of how I did the indentations using SDS2 sculpting.

-
Can I say that is badass, as badass as it looked at Basecamp?
Oh, I just did say it was badass.

It's sick! (using my kids vocab)
This (soon to be released) plugin opens a whole now dimention to modeling in SU, nothing is impossible...okay except for SU's poly limits that is.

Model looks good.
Hopefully we got SDS2 before x-mas? Not that I am happy with SDS v1, but v2 workflow looks really good - cannot wait.
-
I have no idea regarding the release date, there is still much to refine and stuff to add at this point, but can say so far the features I have tested are awesome and very robust (not a splat yet).

Except for the one in your chair when you shit yourself at how badass this plugin is
