Wrinkle Removal?
-
I need a suggestion or two. See the attached SKP file. This shows the perimeter for the upper shaped part of a Windsor chair seat. I can get most of the skin to work out alright with the Curviloft tool but I'm getting a wrinkle I don't want. Any thoughts about how to prevent or remove it? I tried with Extrude Edges by Rails and get a similar wrinkle.
Thanks.

hey Dave,
with both methods, you should try swapping the rails & profiles.
with EExR, just start with a different line as your profile, then the two adjacent ones as the rails, the the other as the melding profile.. for me, it works best if i pick the front line upon opening your skp as the original profile (the one with the least curves in it)..
with curviloft, while the mesh is still black (editable), hover over it and the lines will highlight yellow.. click on the mesh and another window will pop up.. at the top left of the window, there's a parallelogram looking shape which will swap rails&profiles for you..
both of those result in a wrinkle free mesh but there's still a dip in that area.. does that dip need sorted out as well?

hello,
With EEbR, try to set your first profile to have the same amount of segment than the second.

Thank you both. Gilles, as soon as I saw your image I knew what I was doing wrong. Should have thought of it myself. That's what lack of sleep will do.
Thanks again.
Dave
