    Hi Didier,

I realy like your plugins, but please excuse me for asking but what is the reason behind SU2POV? I mean, aren't there enough render app to render a SU scene/model. Or am I missing something. Is there a special reason for developing this app? Can SU2POW do something the others can't?

POVRay is free, widely respected and hugely powerful.

and because you can never have enough render engines.

su2pov is old, first version was published in 2005 and was one of the first exporter to a render app. There was not lots of them at that time (I mean free, and ascii format). Tomasz developed su2kt a year later, based on su2pov, and since then I've written su2sf among others. Su2pov was like a test program for me and made me learn lots of things about Ruby and SketchUp.
Yes there are plenty of render apps around, I'm not blind you know 😉 but for high quality renderings, you need a payware (Maxwell, Vray, Podium, etc). Su2pov is just for fun, although you can achieve decent results with it, IMHO.
        Best regards,

        DB

          dear didier,

i have one request for the new plugin SU2POV 3.5, is it possible with the material preset, we still have the "old like" material editor? i mean, i feel much easier with slider bar to all parameter.. 😛

or it is still there, but i don't how to access it 😳
          thanks

          regards,

          still so much to learn..

              Hi,
@vidy: sorry, but the old material editor has been deleted... (it was windows-only).

                Error Loading File su2pov35Toolbar.rb

with this new plug-in 3.5, is there a way i can attach bump image on the texture?

                  thanks,

If you mean attach another image (than the one of the texture) for the bump effect, the answer is no, but you can do this editing the pov-ray material manually.

thanks for your response didier, but that technique kind of make me nervous, since im not good at programming.. 😳

what i want to confirm from you, is there any possibility to add an external image texture in your material "surface effect" dialog box? (something that we can browse it independently) 😄

                            thanks,

                                    Merci beaucoup!

                                          Didier,

I installed Su2POV3.5: no problem. However when I start rendering I get the message: "POV file created in C:\users..\desktop\untitled but unable to launche POV-Ray......"
                                          What's going wrong?
