Can't see if a face is selected or not

When i see some interesting tutorials, i see something weird or possible not.
When someone is selecting a face, the face is light up a little bit bleu/grey. But when i do that on my computer i don't see anything. So i don't know when i have selected a face or not.
This is very tricky when you use a plugin like the new roof plugin.

Can somebody say me, what is the problem ?

Can you tell us the spec of your PC/Mac?

It could be related to the graphics card. Under Windows>Preferences>OpenGL which boxes are checked?
