Vectors into free sketchup?
-
Hi-
New to Sketchup. I want to import some starting shapes from Mac Adobe Illustrator, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do that in version 8. I can't spend the money on Pro.
There's no real path I can see from Illustrator to collada. I would be overjoyed to use the DXF import plugin for 7.1, but unfortunately I'm late to the party and there doesn't seem to be a place to download the 7.1 binary any more, even though I was able to obtain the plug-in itself.
Any suggestions? TIA.

I have not looked into going from Illustrator through Collada. But here is a link to get the old 7.1 free, so that you can use the dwg importer.

Thanks for the quick response, Chris.
Unfortunately those are links to old Pro versions.
"Note: We only support the latest version of Google SketchUp Free and don't offer downloads to previous versions."
So, I have 8 hours of eval time. Then I'll need a different solution.

After 8hrs it will revert to SU7 Free...it's magic

I understand that the Mac version of SU can import PDF files, even as vector entities.
