      First crack at this one.
      Arion Render - 60 mins
Set up time after sketchup was about 15 mins

I've got another one cooking at the moment with a slightly different material for the outside of the marble. I'll upload it when it's done.

Second one using Arion Render. This took about 1h 20m. I'm quite pleased with the results, would like to have put some DOF on it but I'm not sure how to do that with Arion yet.

A quick try with Thea, not much time to play unfortunately.

Would've liked to do more with this, but we have a new kid so it took 5 days to cobble together enough free time to do this much. Modeled in SU, exported to Blender for duplication of the marbles and using physics to pour them in the jar and tray. Rendered in Luxrender.

                  Hi,

Testing of different materials I realize again how much our vision in the real world is influenced by the environment.

The result is that you keep aware of things in the hand and studies the different lighting effects and reflections.

Thanks! Took 9 months to render, but turned out pretty good! Just forgot to deselect "fussy" and lower the "gassy" slider before I pushed Start. πŸ˜’ πŸ˜†

Don't worry: you have about 18 year to do some postpro ... πŸ‘Š

                      Congrats !

                              Thanks for sharing, Eric. πŸ˜„

Well, I was fartoo busy to "play" when this came out...
which one is it - "the early bird gets the worm" or "good things come to those who wait"? πŸ˜•

So, without further ado... Twilight Render - Easy 10 render setting with HDR Probe Spherical Sky lighting and one IES lamp light.
                              No post production.
had fun modifying the marble contents. πŸ˜‰
Download scene, hdr, and IES file to try for yourself and extra marble here.
